Our time in Oman is coming to an end. We leave from As Seeb International Airport on Sunday 12th to experience a little of life in the UAE, or at least in Dubai. We are flying on Jazeera Airlines, whose website boasts leather seats for all - even economy class. We will be based in an apartment at Festival City, a little south of Dubai Creek and one of the many, many new developments in the ever-expanding emirate that is Dubai in recent years.

Oman has been an interesting stop on the way - frustrating in some ways, especially not being able to arrange access to any musicians other than western-style hotel bands. But the access to the beach has really helped smooth away any stresses during our time here, as well as providing the setting for a new album, "Melodica Travels: Al Azaiba". The mountainous areas outside the city were breath-taking and the quietude of the rural Omani landscape has a profound effect on your senses. I haven't experienced stillness like that before, even in the Mongolian countryside, and watching the sun set in silence over the hills and mountains of the Omani wilderness on the way back from Quriyatt was one of the definite highlights from our time over here that will always stay with me.

So, time to move on again. Next stop, Dubai...
