I must first state that by calling this project Seven Ages of Jazz I am not suggesting that it is possible to split the entire history of jazz music into seven periods. Instead, I have chosen seven periods from jazz history that are of particular interest to myself as a performer and arranger. The seven periods, or "ages", I have chosen are listed below:

First Age – “The Blues, New Orleans & Chicago”

Second Age – “Swing”

Third Age – “Bebop & Cool”

Fourth Age – “Hard Bop & Modal”

Fifth Age – “Free & Time No Changes”

Six Age – “Fusion & World”

Seventh Age – “Tomorrow is the Question”
