The UB Jazz Academy is the first of its kind in Mongolia, offering Jazz Theory, Practical, History and Musicianship lectures to Mongolian students that, until the Academy’s founding, had only been able to study Jazz music independently.
The aims of the UB Jazz Academy are to provide learners with:
1. High standards of jazz improvisation and performance

I have worked professionally as a pianist, arranger, composer and private music teacher since graduating from Birmingham Conservatoire (UK) with First Class Honours in June 1997. I have toured extensively in Europe and also in India and Japan, since 1991.
OTHER SKILLS
I have written articles for The Wire new music magazine (“A Global Ear from Ulaanbaatar”, March 2007), Fanfare magazine (for Birmingham Conservatoire alumni, Spring 2007), and the Mongol Messenger (weekly English language newspaper in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, February 2007).

I obtained the Certificate of Educational Studies in TESOL (Level 2) with Merit from www.englishtc.co.uk, accredited by www.actdec.org.uk at the start of February 2006. This certificate qualifies the holder to teach learners of English at all levels. This 150 hour course covered the following areas of study:
Methodologies and approaches in language teaching - Classroom Management - Awareness of the structure of English - Issues in presenting language - Issues in teaching the four language skills areas (speaking, listening, reading and writing) - Integrating the four language skills - Planning lessons - Teaching vocabulary - Practical language activities - Testing in the classroom.
