On this, the second release resulting from my two visits to Loch Ness a few years ago, I have presented musical re-imaginings of enduring moments from my time on the south side of the loch, and specifically, as a result of my pilgrimage to the former home of Aleister Crowley, Bolskine House.
The music on this album is a tone poem describing three distinct stages in my journey to south Loch Ness side: one, my profound personal experience of finally being in close proximity to Boleskine House, walking around, performing in, and investigating Boleskine Cemetery; two, the disorientating effect of leaving such a powerful place on earth, and driving on into the future; and three, my arrival at the beach at Dores, almost at the end of the southern sweep of the road around south Loch Ness. The beach presented an opportunity to relax and reflect, as well as provide the first possibility to physically touch the bewitching waters of the loch itself. I sat on this beach and thought deeply about the time Aleister Crowley spent beside these very same waters, back at the turn of the 20th Century.
